Manage your Applications in Gantry#
Now that you’ve learned the basics on how to use Gantry and have ingested data many times into Gantry. You may start to incur many applications in your Gantry instance that may begin to feel overwhelming. But don’t worry! We’ve got you covered, in this guide we’ll show you how to get a better grasp on managing applications.
Overtime, you will likely have multiple Applications in Gantry. In addition to adding various references, environments and versions of a given application, it is often worthwhile to create multiple Applications for various purposes such as testing, different individual usages, etc.
The applications page gives you essential information about your applications at a glance. You can spot alerts, recent data updates, and ingestion trends.
Archiving an application#
In order to visually clean up your application summary page it is useful to archive your application. Archiving an application will remove its view from the Application Summary page by default and also will stop any further processing of ingested data from the Gantry system.
To archive an application, click the three dots on the right to reveal the application menu. Select
Clicking on this will reveal the Archive an Application Modal that will confirm your decision to archive this Application.
An archived application will no longer process data sent to it in Gantry. Therefore any events sent to Gantry while an application is archived will need to be resent after restoring the application.
Restoring an application#
In order to display applications that are archived, you will need to click the
Show archived button on the Application Summary page header.
Once enabled, all archived applications will appear.
To restore an application, click the three dots on the right to reveal the application menu. Select
Clicking on this will reveal the Restore an Application Modal that will confirm your decision to restore this Application.
Remember that ONLY enabled applications data will be processed by Gantry.
